Mortgage Limits have
changed (temporarily).
Fannie Mae and Freddie
Mac announced the new
Mortgage Limits as
authorized by the
Economic Stimulus Act of
2008. The Economic
Stimulus Act of 2008 was
created to help lenders
serve more borrowers in
many high-cost areas.
Starting April 1, 2008
there will be a new
class of loans called
Jumbo-Conforming
Mortgages. The Metro DC
Area which includes
Montgomery County, PG
County, DC, Alexandria
VA, Arlington VA and
many other counties in
the area now have a
Jumbo-Conforming Loan
Limit to $729,750 (the
old limit was
$417,000).
